are living in the information-exchanged age. It has been dramatically changed
since last decades. The reason is because of network. A network can be anything
from a simple collection of computers at one location which have been tied
together using a particular connectivity medium (such as network cabling) to a
giant global network, e.g. internet, which uses several different connectivity
media, including microwave and satellite technology. As computer continue to
evolve and so as how people communicate, thus, it is important that faculty be
equipped with industry knowledge and skills in order for the students attain
industry need skills.
The Mikrotik Academy through its Mikrotik Academy Trainer representative in the Philippines in the person of Engr. Roy Lopez Pamitalan in partnership with PSITE Cagayan Valley Region came to Cagayan State University to conduct a Training and Certification on Networking using the Mikrotik devices and equipment having a goal of producing Academy Trainers making CSU a partner Agency and at the same time, one of the Mikrotik Academy Training and Certification Centers in the Philippines.
The Training was conducted on January 11 to 16,
2020 in CSU Carig Campus in the CICS Conference Hall. The said training was
participated by different faculty members from different schools and CSU
Campuses. Carig Campus sent 3 participants from the MIS office and 3 from the
College of Information and Computing Sciences of which, one is the dean of the
said College, Dean Generino P. Siddayao. The first day of the training was introduction
of the participants and trainer. The topics for the succeeding days were also
given and discussed to the participants which are about Routing Engineering and
User Management Engineering of Mikrotik. Each participant was given their own
network devices provided by the trainer and was required to bring their own
computer or laptop which they will be using in the duration of the training and
After each rigid training on every topic, participants took their examination thru online in order for them to receive certification. Trainees must get at least 75% to pass the every examination. When the training and examination was finally done, all CSU Carig participants were able to pass all certifications and were recognized as Certified Mikrotik Academy Trainer, 6 out of 6 in total and on last day of the training, headed by Engr. Denis Policar, the awarding of certificates and closing ceremony was done. CSU recognized Engr. Pamitalan and was given a certificate of recognition as trainer and resource speaker of the program. Individual awarding of certificates were done followed by group photo ops. Indeed, the training was a successful and really full of learnings. With this, CSU will soon become one of the Accredited Mikrotik Academy Training Center in the Philippines.
